Arvind Kejriwal Confirms AAP Will Contest Alone, Dismisses Alliance with Congress

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has officially dismissed speculation regarding an alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress for the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections. He declared that AAP will contest the elections independently, ruling out any collaboration with Congress.

Kejriwal Puts an End to Alliance Rumors

Rumors had been circulating that AAP and Congress were in the final stages of forming an alliance. Reports suggested that as part of this deal, Congress would get 15 seats, while smaller INDIA bloc parties might receive 1-2 seats. The rest of the seats would be contested by AAP.

However, Arvind Kejriwal refuted these claims through social media, saying, “AAP will fight the election in Delhi on its own strength. There is no possibility of any alliance with Congress.”

AAP Leaders Reinforce Kejriwal’s Statement

Senior AAP leaders have echoed Kejriwal’s stance:

  • Sanjay Singh, AAP MP, stated, “Our party’s national convenor has made it clear — there will be no alliance with Congress. AAP will contest alone.”
  • Raghav Chadha, another AAP MP, added, “AAP will fight the Delhi election based on its organizational and political strength. There is no question of any alliance.”

In the 2020 elections, AAP won a massive majority with 62 out of 70 seats, while BJP secured 8 seats, and Congress failed to win any.
