Delhi University Law Exams 2024 Postponed

Delhi University (DU) has postponed the upcoming examinations for law students following widespread protests at the Campus Law Centre (CLC) on December 16, 2024. The students raised concerns over an incomplete syllabus, mid-course faculty changes, delays in allotments, and a sudden syllabus update.

The exams, initially scheduled to begin on December 26, 2024, have now been put on hold. The new exam dates have not yet been announced. According to DU Proctor Rajni Abbi, the decision was made to address the grievances, and a revised datesheet will be issued after consultations with relevant stakeholders.

During Monday’s protest, a confrontation occurred between students and the police. Protesters alleged that the police used a lathi-charge and teargas shells to disperse the crowd, causing injuries. However, the Delhi Police denied these allegations.

University officials are expected to work with the examination branch to finalize new exam dates soon. Calls and messages to the dean and head of the law faculty, Anju Vali Tikoo, went unanswered.
